Small actions can have big impacts

Describe a random encounter with a stranger that stuck out positively to you.

There’s no one moment that sticks out, because honestly? It’s the little things that leave the biggest impact. A smile, a friendly “hey,” someone offering to help you reach something on the top shelf (as a tall woman, I do this a lot 😂)—these tiny acts can completely shift someone’s day. And most of the time, the person giving that kindness has no idea how much it mattered.

As both a therapist and a dating coach, I hear it all the time—clients sharing stories about strangers who made them feel seen, valued, or just a little less alone. It’s a powerful reminder that connection doesn’t have to be deep to be meaningful.

And when you’re the one offering that small moment of kindness? It feels so good when it lands. So here’s your reminder for the week: keep smiling, keep saying hello, keep showing up with kindness. You never know who really needs it—and who might be remembering that moment for a long time.
